Student protests in London and Los Angeles

On Wednesday, students gathered to protest against rises in student tuition - in London and in Los Angeles. While 50,000 turned out on the streets of London, far fewer protested out at Long Beach.

While it is admirable that such a large number feel motivated enough to miss tutorials, Cash in the Attic and Countdown, it is depressing to contrast the ensuing riot and Long Beach's 'protest carnival'.
