Previously it has been reported that stand-in fire crews could be given police protection on Bonfire Night and that London Fire Brigade chiefs were monitoring the situation.
Sadly, stand-in crews are out right now on the streets of London and being tailed by officers from the Met. This highlights just how nasty certain elements in the FBU are and follows what I wrote last month about the truth about the FBU.
Iain Dale blogged earlier about conversations he had with striking firefighters and concluded that they were a 'terrific bunch'. Those he met might be, but the intimidation and threats being dished out by people claiming to represent London's firefighters are utterly unacceptable.
